Sundays @ Woodlands

We know it isn't easy to step into a new church on Sunday morning.  To help you feel more comfortable here are some details about what to expect.

Woodlands has a very friendly and casual environment; no need to dress up!  You'll see this for yourself when you walk in and feel comfortable and right at home.  Just come ready to meet some new people and enjoy yourself; and don't worry, we won't put you on the spot or ask you to stand up.

Woodlands staff, leaders, and anyone who would like to join begin their mornings with prayer at 9:00am.  We pray over the service, community, and any prayer needs at this time.  Most people begin to arrive around 10:15am and enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation until the service starts.  The service begins with a time of worship.  Our worship is mostly contemporary with a sprinkling of traditional hymns.  We preach right out the Bible every Sunday, followed by communion, and then we end in worship.  The service lasts about an hour and thirty minutes.

What do I do with my kids?

What do I do with my kids?

We've got you covered!  We have a small nursery staffed with a volunteer to take care of your small children (0-4 years).  If you have an elementary aged child we have Children's Church for K-4th graders.  Your children will engage in music, crafts, activities, stories, and be challenged to live for Christ!

**All of our nursery, children's church, and youth volunteers have been screened and background checked to ensure the safety of all the children.

What about my teenager?

What about my teenager?

Good news.  We have a growing and exciting youth group at Woodlands!  The Junior High Ministry (5th-8th Grade) meet on Sunday mornings at 10:30am in the Teen Center room.  At 10:30am, the Junior High participate in worship in the main sanctuary with the adults.  After worship they play games and then dig into a time of discipleship where they learn straight from the Word of God and are asked and challenged with thought provoking questions.   The High School Ministry meets on Fridays at the Teen Center at 7pm. Please contact us for more details.

Leaders

Daniel Meers , Lead Pastor Hometown?  San Bernardino What’s the craziest thing you will admit to having done?  Sliding down a wet rock, during a cold rain storm, in South Carolina, plunging into a freezing pond-- While holding my toddler on my lap. Who is your hero? And why?   Francis Chan.  He wrote two books about loving others and being led by the Holy Spirit-- then guess what?  He actually went and did it.    If you weren’t doing what you do today, what other job would you have?  I have a secret dream to be a standup comedian.     Why do they lock gas station bathrooms?   I assume its like that one room in my house.  Its messy and dirty so when people come over you hope they don't go in there or ask about it.

Greg Wisner, Church Leader Hometown? Turlock, CA (between San Fransisco and Sacramento) What's the craziest thing you will admit to having done?   To shoot pictures of a new race boat going 90 mph, I had to ride on another race boat moving the same speed, straddling the fuel tank.  Crazy, but I got the shot. Who is your hero and why?   Abraham Lincoln.  He had a deep faith in God and displayed courageous and resolute leadership of our country in the face of intense pressure and divisiveness. What cellphone wallpaper do you have right now?   A picture I shot of aspen trees in fall colors in Colorado. What "lesson from mom" do you still live by today?   It’s important to be able to recognize when the challenge you face requires abilities that exceed your own, and you need to turn to someone who’s skills are greater than your's.
